Why NodSEO exists

Most SEO tools are behind paywalls. The ones that aren't require signup forms, send your data to third-party servers, or limit you to 50 checks per day. That's frustrating when you just need to check a redirect or build a UTM link.

NodSEO started with a simple idea: these tools should be free, private, and work immediately. No accounts, no credit cards, no "you've reached your daily limit."

The first tool was the Redirect Checker. It grew from there as we kept encountering SEO tasks that didn't have a good free tool. A robots.txt generator that didn't try to upsell you. A canonical tag checker that actually explained what was wrong. A UTM builder that handled bulk imports.

Design philosophy

  • Privacy by default, not by premium. Your data should be private because it's the right thing to do, not because you paid for the premium tier. Most tools process everything in your browser. The ones that use a server (for HTTP requests) don't store or log your data.
  • Works immediately. No onboarding, no tutorials, no "getting started" guide. Open the tool, enter your data, get your result. If you need help, each page has a detailed guide and FAQ — but you shouldn't need to read it first.
  • Honest about limitations. When a tool can't do something, we say so. Server-side tools like the Redirect Checker require our Cloudflare Worker — we explain why instead of pretending everything is client-side. No tool claims to do everything.
  • Built for real workflows. Every tool is designed around a specific task: check a redirect, build a UTM URL, generate a robots.txt. Not a Swiss Army knife that does everything poorly — focused tools that do one thing well.

How tools are built

NodSEO is built with an entirely open-source stack:

  • Astro — Static site generator. Every page is pre-rendered at build time for fast loading.
  • Tailwind CSS — Utility-first CSS. Consistent design without a heavy framework.
  • Starwind UI — Component library. Accessible, keyboard-navigable UI primitives.
  • Cloudflare Pages — Hosting. Global CDN, zero-config deployments.
  • Cloudflare Workers — Server-side API for tools that need HTTP requests (Redirect Checker, Canonical Tag Checker, IP Lookup).

No proprietary dependencies. No vendor lock-in. If we disappeared tomorrow, the stack would still work.

Available tools

Redirect Checker

Trace URL redirect chains and view per-hop status codes, response times, and the final destination URL. Detects SEO issues like redirect loops, long chains, and mixed content.

Robots.txt Generator

Generate, preview, and download valid robots.txt files. Set crawl rules for specific user-agents, block directories, and include sitemap URLs.

Canonical Tag Checker

Check canonical tags on any URL. Detects missing, multiple, relative, cross-domain, and mismatched canonicals with an SEO health score and detailed analysis.

Meta Tag Generator

Generate production-ready HTML meta tags for your web pages. Live search preview, Open Graph and Twitter Card generators, character counters, and favicon link tags — all from a single form.

IP Lookup

Look up detailed information about any IPv4 address, IPv6 address, or domain name. View geolocation, ISP, ASN, timezone, coordinates, and network information instantly.

Roman Numeral Converter

Convert numbers to Roman numerals and Roman numerals back to numbers instantly. Supports 1–3999 with standard subtractive notation (IV, IX, XL, XC, CD, CM).
